What strain is G13 Haze?

A Barney’s Farm cross of the indica G13 with a Hawaiian sativa (most databases say simply Haze), bred in Amsterdam, second at the 2006 High Times Cannabis Cup and the overall winner in 2007.1,4,5

Is G13 Haze the same as G13?

No. G13 is the indica parent, which Leafly users call sleepy and relaxed; G13 Haze is its sativa-leaning cross, reported as euphoric and giggly. State lab records count them separately: 14 flower tests of G13 Haze against 97 of G13.4,6,7

Who bred G13 Haze?

The Cup-winning version is Barney’s Farm’s, from Amsterdam. SeedFinder lists five other breeders’ versions, including Mr Nice (Nevil and Shantibaba) and Soma Seeds, whose description credits Neville with crossing G13 to a Super Haze.8,9,10,11

Did G13 Haze win a Cannabis Cup?

Yes: first overall at the 20th High Times Cannabis Cup in 2007, after second overall in 2006; SeedFinder also lists a second place at the 2006 IC 420 Growers Cup.5,8,12

How much THC is in G13 Haze?

The median is 20.30% across only 14 tests, a small sample; the middle half fell between 19.98% and 21.86%, and the highest result was 26.17%.7 Leafly lists 21%, AllBud 21–29% and Barney’s Farm 23%.1,2,4

Does G13 Haze have CBD?

Very little: 4 of the 14 tests that reported CBD found none, none reached 1%, and the highest was 0.09%.7

What terpenes are in G13 Haze?

Our lab data cannot say: only 2 of the 14 tests reported individual terpene values, too few for a profile.7 Leafly lists caryophyllene, limonene and myrcene, in that order, from its own data.4

What does G13 Haze taste and smell like?

Leafly users report pepper, pine and sage; AllBud describes citrusy tropical fruit over woody pine and spicy earth; Barney’s Farm lists sweet candy, tropical fruit cocktail and citrus for taste and, for its feminized seeds, a fruity, spicy and berry aroma.1,2,4

Does G13 Haze make you sleepy?

Not by most reports: Leafly rates it mostly energizing and its users’ top effects are euphoric, happy and giggly, though Leafly also describes heavy-hitting body effects. The parent G13 is the one Leafly users call sleepy.4,6

Was G13 really bred by the US government?

No source can show it. Leafly presents the story as “according to some accounts”, Weedmaps says almost none of it can be proven, High Times states it as fact, and the earliest dated version, Neville’s 1987 catalog, says “reputedly”.6,13,14,15

How long does G13 Haze take to flower?

65–70 days for Barney’s Farm’s feminized seeds and 65–75 for its regular ones; Mr Nice’s version takes 9–11 weeks and Soma’s about 84 days.1,10,11,16

Only from licensed stores where cannabis is legal for you. On Oct 3, 2026, Weedmaps showed G13 Haze flower at 3 store listings in 2 of 27 US markets, 2 of them near Boston.17
